Ultra-light
P30 — the sub-19 kg multi-function handheld laser welder
Under 19 kg for the whole laser source. If the job is up a ladder or at the far end of a site, this is the machine that gets there.

In one paragraph
What the P30 actually is
The Black Crystal P30 is Han's Laser ultra-light multi-function handheld laser welding system: laser source, wire feeder, torch, control system, outdoor power inlet and gas cylinder mount in one body, with the laser source under 19 kg. Single-pass penetration is 3 mm on stainless, carbon and galvanised steel, 2 mm on aluminium and brass, 1 mm on copper. 152 simplified and 520 professional parameter sets, six nozzle types, 5 kg spool compatibility.

In the field
The machine, not the render

Portable body and the wheeled configuration. The gas cylinder mounts on the chassis; the spool is a 5 kg H-class reel.
Engineering
Six components, one box
Under 19 kg for the laser source
The lightest multi-function machine in the Han's Laser handheld range. One person carries it to the work instead of bringing the work to the machine — which is the whole argument for a handheld welder and the one most spec sheets quietly undermine.
Weld, cut, clean, derust — one torch
Weld, cut, clean, derust, and run from an outdoor power inlet with the gas bottle mounted on the chassis. Five processes and one power source, with no second machine to buy for the cleaning job.
T-mode: +10% penetration, +30% at equal power
The manufacturer's figure for T-mode. On 3 mm stainless and 2 mm aluminium that is the difference between a full-penetration seam and a partial one, which is why we quote it as a process window rather than a headline multiple.
152 simplified, 520 professional parameter sets
Two menu levels on one machine. Hand it to an operator who has never used a laser welder and they are welding in minutes; hand it to a process engineer and there are 520 slots to tune per material and thickness.
Six nozzle types, 5 kg spool
The wire path takes a 5 kg spool and six nozzle profiles. Fewer spool changes on long runs, and the right nozzle for the seam rather than the nearest one on the shelf.
Optional CNC desktop platform, ±0.1 mm
The same power unit can be dropped onto the manufacturer's desktop platform with AI nesting and a twin-camera system, at ±0.1 mm positional accuracy. Buy the handheld now, add the bench when volume justifies it.
What the data sheet does not tell you
- 3 mm is the ceiling, not the average. The P30 is a mobility decision. If most of your work is 5 mm and above, the same money buys more penetration in the Red Crystal P60 — you are paying for 19 kg, and you should know that.
- Copper is 1 mm, and that is a material limit. A 1064 nm fibre laser reflects off copper. One millimetre is what the manufacturer supports; anything thicker is the wrong tool, and no parameter tuning changes that.
- The under-19 kg figure is the laser source, not the full kit. Add the gas cylinder, spool and torch and you are carrying more than 19 kg in total. We quote the number the way the manufacturer does, and then tell you what it actually weighs in the van.
- The CNC platform is an extra, not included. The ±0.1 mm desktop configuration is a separate purchase. Do not budget the P30 as a welding cell unless you are adding it.
- Air-cooled means a 40 °C-class ambient limit. Same derating story as the rest of the air-cooled line. In a hot climate on long shifts, the liquid-cooled Sapphire machines are the honest answer.
Certification
What is documented
The P30 carries PLD, CE, FCC, FDA and MD per the manufacturer's documentation. Certificate files with numbers are sent on request — we send the document, not a badge.
Running costs
Consumables are the real cost
Protective lenses and the six nozzle profiles. The P30 uses a 5 kg spool and the same class of protective lens as the rest of the range — see the consumables page for intervals and reordering.
Consumable intervals →In the crate
- Six nozzle profiles
- Wire-feed assembly
- Laser safety glasses OD8+
- Tool kit
- Dust cover

FAQ
P30 questions
What is actually integrated into one body?
Laser source, wire feeder, welding torch, control system, outdoor power inlet and gas cylinder mount — six things that are separate boxes on a conventional setup, integrated into one chassis. In practice it means one person, one trip, and no cable management between a power cabinet, a feeder and a torch.
How thick can the P30 weld?
3 mm single-pass on stainless, carbon and galvanised steel; 2 mm on aluminium and brass; 1 mm on copper. These are the manufacturer's figures on a fitted joint. The machine's advantage is weight and reach, not depth — if you need 6 mm, that is the P60.
Is it light enough for one person to carry?
The laser source is under 19 kg. With the gas cylinder, spool and torch fitted, the working weight is higher — plan on a two-trip carry for a full kit, or leave the cylinder on a trolley and run a longer gas line. We would rather tell you that than have you discover it on site.
Can I add the CNC platform later?
Yes. The desktop platform with AI nesting and twin cameras runs the same power unit at ±0.1 mm. It is a separate purchase and it is worth having a conversation about volume before you buy it — below a certain batch size, the handheld setup is faster because there is no fixturing.
What certifications does the P30 have?
PLD, CE, FCC, FDA and MD per the manufacturer's documentation. Ask us and we send the certificate files with numbers, for the exact model and configuration you are ordering.
How long is the warranty and what does it exclude?
Twelve months, optical consumables excluded. Arc-welding interference on the same site is excluded — plan your grounding and physical separation as you would for any laser welder.
Is 19 kg the right trade for you?
Tell us your thickness and where the machine has to go. If the honest answer is the P60 instead, we will say so.
